Malloreigh's summer in Italy

Now that I am settled back into my normal routine at home with a minute to spare, I wanted to take the time to write you a letter about how great my au pair experience was this past summer!
First off, I had the most amazing host family. Not only did they immediately accept me into their family and regular routine, but they also made sure to invite me on every little excursion or friend's dinner party that they were hosting.
The children were adorable and always made the best effort that they could to openly communicate with me, and learn some English while having fun at the same time!
I honestly could not have asked for a more caring couple of people to have made me a part of their family; as they told me the day I left: I will always have a place in their home. I will be forevergrateful to Scotia Personnel for providing me the opportunity to make such a great connection with a family halfway across the world. Whit my placement in Turin, I was also able to do quite a bit of sightseeing. I could do everything from strolling around the city centre on my own, going to a tree-climbing course with my host family, meeting other au pairs, and planning trips to other Italian cities.
My host family even took me on their vacation to Tuscany, where they and some friends had rented out Tuscan farmhouses for a week. It was amazing to watch Italian sunset from the balcony of a vacation home just outside of Volterra, while eating some authentic Italian food and enjoing good company.
I also got to spend quite a bit of time at the family's beach house in Celle Ligure, which included some breathtaking views and plenty of seaside meals. It was amazing to be able to go swimming with the children and try to teach English that was associated with the beach, as they were always just as thrilled as I was when we would go to Celle.

Honestly I cannot say enough about my host family, and the experience I had in Italy as an au pair thanks to them, and Scotia Personnel. I feel like I can hardly even scratch the surface of describing how great my summer job was!!
